Catbalogan New Photographers

Yes, this is long overdue! Sorry guys i posted this late. Anyways...

Yours truly conducted an informal orientation and workshop on Basic Photography last June 14, 2007 in BitsandBytes newly opened office here in Catbalogan. The passionate participants were, Yvonne-the only rose among the bees: Jobal, Emon, Mirben and RJ. I shared with them two fundamentals in learning photography, (1) Understanding the Camera and Light; and, (2) Composing a picture. We forego much discussion on the technicals but rather focused more about the art thingy side in photography which is basically the composition and how to be sensitive to look for the quality light rather than its quantity. I decided to do this so not to create a misconception that photography is all about hightech cameras and state of the art gadgets. I told them that whatever your camera is, it can produce decent and beautiful images following the principles and rules in composition. I imparted them the adage, "nasa Indian yan at wala sa Pana!"

Our session lasted for the whole afternoon and followed by a practicum two days after in Leopard's Resort owned by Mike Mendoza located at Brgy. Cal-apog. We started shooting that day as early as 6am so they can notice how the light changes from soft to harsh condition.. At 10am, we stopped shooting and went back to BitsandBytes to view the pictures they took and had a sort of critiquing using the theories that i discussed as the basis. I considered my 'students' as fast learners and potential photographers! know why?! see the pictures below!
